Green juices and 6am wake-up calls, it’s all standard territory on a wellness retreat, right? But the road to feel good doesn’t have to be through hardship and deprivation. The journey to joy retreat ditches self-flagellation in favour of fostering one simple emotion: joy.

Join host Laura, founder of  WE ARE FEARLESS at Bryn Tanat Hall for a weekend of connection amongst like minds on a ‘not too serious’ retreat that brings a lighter side to the healing journey – We will move our bodies in a joyful yoga practice, an uplifting dance workshop and a beautiful scenic walk. We will create a stunning, colourful memento of the weekend in a workshop with a local artist.

 Bryn Tanat Hall acts as the home base where you will be surrounded by the beautiful Welsh countryside, wildflower meadows and calming river, allowing you to take some time out during the day to enjoy nature. Meanwhile, our team of chefs prep deliciously nourishing meals whilst the fires crackle and your beautifully decorated bedroom lulls you into a dreamy slumber.

Meet your Host

Hello!

 I’m Laura, a Group Fitness Instructor, a Personal Trainer specialising in pre and post-natal exercise, a fully insured Certified Nutritionist and a keen endurance athlete. I’m am also the founder of We Are Fearless and my aim to help and inspire others to live a more joyful life.
Being an evidence-based practitioner and everything I do is informed by science and shaped by my own experience and my years of working with countless clients. My practice is based on the scientific fact that health is multi-faceted and complex; and it is shaped by my learned experience that what many of us are missing in our lives, is joy.

My Aim…

I want to encourage people to find a type of movement which brings them joy, to learn how to eliminate restrictive eating and make peace with food, and to connect with like-minded women who will encourage, motivate and inspire them. Many of the women I work with are used to putting their needs last. Many of their lives have been overshadowed by diet culture and they have become used to judging their worth by the shape and size of their body.
It’s incredibly exciting to partner up with Bryn Tanat Hall to bring you the ‘Journey to Joy’ Retreat.
This unique weekend will focus on four key things; the joy of movement, the joy of food, the joy of creating and the joy of connection.

DANCE

Saturday Evening Joyful Dance session
 
Radiate with joy and connect with the group as Cat guides you through a session to get you grooving and glowing. Expect uplifting music guaranteed to get you moving and connected to a positive mindset.
Cat Merrick runs This Vibrant Life which she founded in 2016. She is dedicated to guiding women to return to a vibrant, joyful life by tackling negative thought patterns through practices that develop self awareness & healing.
After a decade of teaching dance in secondary education, Cat now focuses on teaching women how to reduce stress, overwhelm and anxiety and create energy and vibrancy through yoga, breathwork, meditation and dance. Cat is a self confessed neuroscience geek and includes a healthy mix of science and spirituality in her approach to her work. With a wealth of experience of movement practices and teaching Cat is adept at creating a wonderfully supportive environment for others to thrive in.

YOGA

Sarah is known as Self Love Sarah and she truly believes that yoga is for everyBODY. She will be guiding us through a joyful yoga practice helping us to find joy, playfulness and compassion in moving our bodies. You can expect a fun yoga flow, joyful playlist and Sarah’s bubbly, sassy personality. Sarah’s teaching is incredibly inclusive and accessible so this practice is suitable for everyBODY.

CREATE

Ruth Carlile Mills is an experienced educator, artist, and CEO of Arts for Health Design Studio, Designs in Mind. Ruth takes her inspiration from the natural world and believes that creativity and sustainability go hand in hand. In Ruth’s ‘joy wreath’ workshop, you will have the opportunity to design and make a bespoke wreath using colourful upcycled fabrics and wooden bird decorations. No experience is necessary in this warm and encouraging workshop, as Ruth will guide you through every step. All the materials will be provided, to create a joyful decoration for your home.

Friday – Sunday:

Single Occupancy: £595.00 per person

Double Occupancy: £525.00 per person

Balance can be paid in full when booking or paid via 4 instalments if initially booked in June 2024.

25% on booking, 25% in July 2024, 25% in August 2024 and final payment required 4 weeks before arrival.
