Bryn Tanat Hall and the Lodges are around a 4 minutes drive to the local village of Llansantffraid-ym-Mechain. Here you can find the local amenities like the petrol station attached to the Morrison’s local shop along with the Spar village shop. Both providing all the groceries you may need for your stay.
The market towns of Oswestry & Welshpool are no more than a 20 minute drive either side of Bryn Tanat. Both have great options if you want to shop local and support small business’ in the area whilst being able to access more familiar high street stores such as Boots the chemist or larger supermarkets.

Getting Here…
Bryn Tanat Hall is fortunate in it’s location – being on the Mid Wales and Shropshire border it is surrounded by breath taking countryside, which is undisturbed from the likes of busy transportation links and high-rise buildings. If you’re using public transport to get to us, we recommend planning ahead.
Gobown Train Station (18 min drive, 10 miles)
Served by Virgin Trains, the westbound trains run to London Euston and Crewe and eastward routes between Holyhead, Manchester Piccadilly and Liverpool Lime Street. There is no ticket office or waiting room so we recommend tickets are purchased in advance along with a pre arranged taxi or hire car service to get to us.
Welshpool Train Station (19 min drive, 12 miles)
Located on the Cambrian Line, it’s managed by Transport for Wales, has a small car park and a waiting room. The station is unstaffed, so tickets must be purchased in advance or on the train. There is no taxi rank at the station so we recommend pre booking a taxi or hire care service.
