Celebrating Women: Discover Our Escape to Nature Retreat

Did you know that we recently hosted an Escape to Nature retreat?

This month, we organised an exclusive wellbeing event to celebrate International Women’s Day. From 7th-9th March, we welcomed a group of inspirational women to participate in a series of wellness activities. Offering wild swimming, yoga sessions and sound bath meditation, we enabled our guests to forge some truly unforgettable memories.

Nature Retreat: Our Rural Setting

Set in the heart of the Welsh countryside, Bryn Tanat Hall is the ideal spot for a relaxing getaway.

With 15 acres of woodland garden and parkland edged with Scots Pine coppices, we’re proud to offer the perfect, rural setting. Due to our idyllic mid-Wales location, we’re always looking for special ways to showcase our picturesque surroundings.

So, what better way to do so than with an exclusive Escape to Nature retreat?

Nature Retreat: Our Detox Getaway

Retreats provide an excellent opportunity to recharge and reconnect with ourselves. They also offer a range of benefits, including reduced stress, increased clarity, and a renewed sense of purpose — all whilst surrounded by a warm and supportive community!

Our two-day detox retreat comprised an array of mindful activities, including:

  • A woodland guided walk, led by our groundskeeper, Rhys
  • Full body and aromatherapy massage, with our talented on-site therapists
  • Sound bath meditation with Matt Hill
  • Pilates with Becca Jones
  • Vinyasa flow yoga followed by guided meditation with Kirsty Martuccio
  • Home-cooked meals by our on-site chef, Beth
  • Cold water immersion therapy with Kirsty Martuccio

Guests also enjoyed our on-site wellness facilities, infrared sauna, and hydrotherapy tub — the latter of which overlooks beautiful forest views.

With a goal of rejuvenating mind, body and soul, our overarching aim was to provide our guests with a relaxing and memorable getaway.

Nature Retreat: Our Special Guests

Our special guests included social media influencers, digital marketers and journalists. In the true spirit of International Women’s Day, members of the group forged meaningful connections and friendships throughout their stay.

Bonding over good food and mindful activities, the women shared stories of their previous adventures, alongside discussing their future goals and ambitions.

The Importance of Nature

Spending time surrounded by trees, rivers and woodland offers a sense of tranquillity, peace and calm. It’s no secret that this is tricky to find in our busy, technology-driven lives!

But, at Bryn Tanat Hall, our remote, retreat venue allows guests to truly immerse themselves in natural surroundings.

This was a core focus of our detox retreat, which offered our guests much-needed escapism from the everyday hustle and bustle.

From an unexpectedly snowy woodland walk to a cold-water swim in the River Tanat, our event ensured that our guests left feeling relaxed, revitalised and rejuvenated!

The Outcome

We received some wonderful feedback following our Escape to Nature retreat.

One of our guests, Freya (@freya_adventureawaits), wrote the following Instagram caption: “What a beautiful day yesterday was. After arriving at the gorgeous @bryntanathall for an International Women’s Day retreat, we had pilates first thing, which was so nice to do again as it’s been quite a few years since I’ve done a pilates class.

“This was followed by the most delicious lunch (the food here is soo good and is sourced as local as possible) and then a super relaxing afternoon and evening, with an aromatherapy massage, exploring the beautiful grounds and a sound bath/meditation session. I’m usually, go go go go, so it was so lovely to just relax yesterday and unwind.”

Digital creator, Poppy (@poppy_in_the_peaks), also thoroughly enjoyed the experience. She captioned her grid post: “Had the best few days at the Escape to Nature Retreat at Bryn Tanat Hall for International Women’s Day with this lovely group of ladies. I stayed in the oldest room @bryntanathall which was stunning and I loved the beams and original features.

“This morning we had a tour around the beautiful grounds and it was so refreshing to hear how Bryn Tanat prioritise keeping the gardens natural and a safe haven for local wildlife. We also had a cold water dip in the snow which was a perfect way to round off the retreat.”

Following the success of our Escape to Nature retreat, we’re planning more wellness events in the future. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled!
