Sustainable Solutions | Introducing Our Mercury Eco-Pod
Situated near Llansantffraid, our Mercury cabin offers a relaxing getaway.
Combining contemporary, luxury and sustainable solutions, guests can unwind and enjoy Mid Wales’ beautiful, idyllic surroundings. Our eco-pod sits spaciously in a natural rural area overlooking the wildlife pond, where guests can sit back, relax and take in the breathtaking views of the constellations above.
Our luxury eco-pod is perfect for cosy family get-togethers, sleeping up to 4 adults and 2 children.
Sustainable Solutions | Our Mission
Staying at a sustainable destination shouldn’t mean you have to compromise on luxury.
From environmentally-friendly materials to handcrafted touches — everything about our Mercury eco-pod has been carefully thought out.
Constructed from sustainable ThermoWood, our eco-cabin is 100% safe, natural and environmentally friendly.
The cabin is heated from our sustainable ground source heating system located under the wildlife pond. While remaining sustainable, this allows us to provide reliable heat and hot water for the cabin.
Sustainable Solutions | Our Interior Design
The sustainable solutions we employ even extend to our eco cabin’s interior design.
Using Tom Raffield’s lighting company, we ensure that we only use sustainable energy bulbs.
Our owner and interior designer, Susan, often collaborates with a local craftsman to produce much of our furniture. If she has an idea, she shares it with him — and that’s when the magic happens!
Some of our furniture, such as the beds, dressing tables and bedside tables, are even made from the elm tree here at Bryn Tanat.
Combining Luxury with Sustainability
We chose our décor and fittings carefully to preserve the spirit of the setting and contemporary construction.
Our guest toiletries are from Aromatherapy Associates. This is a well-known ethical brand that promotes cruelty-free products. We also offer bespoke artisan beds fitted with bed linen made from Egyptian cotton, which is another one of our sustainable solutions.
With on-site kitchen facilities, designer furniture and 3 TVs, we’ve created a sustainable experience that doesn’t sacrifice mod-cons and luxury.
There’s even a private deck and exclusive hot tub, showcasing unsurpassed views of the Meifod Valley, the Breidden Hills and Llanymynech Hill.
Dining at our Eco-Pod
Comprising an electric oven, hob and dishwasher, guests can opt to cook from the comfort of their own eco-pod.
If cooking isn’t on your list of activities, we also offer delicious home-cooked dinners. These are all handmade by our talented chef, Beth, enabling guests to experience fine dining in Wales.
